Common mistakes in renovation - kitchen plumbing

Renovation is the most important stage of home improvement. A mistake made during the initial house works, may later lead to such unfortunate situations that involve double costs.

That's why “Citadeli” shares with you the most common renovation mistakes and, most importantly, ways to avoid such problems.

First and foremost, let's look at kitchen layout, which in many cases is done without the help of a professional and therefore causes a lot of problems.

Kitchen plumbing is one of the most used parts of the house, so there are several things to consider when installing it.

In most kitchens, plumbing pipes are built into walls and floors, so any leak is accompanied by a host of problems such as invisible water leak, uncertainty about where the damage occurred, the need to break down walls and an floors for repairs, etc.

To avoid such problems, consider our advice:

Do not use so-called "cold water" pipes.

By using heat resistant pipes, you will virtually eliminate the problem of leaking water in couplings and the possibility of damage to the pipe due to hot water.

Don't skimp on the initial work

You may spend a little extra money initially but you will avoid many problems over the lifetime of the system.

 Use separate valves

Make sure your kitchen water supply is fitted with a central shut-off valve so you can disconnect only the kitchen from the mains in the event of work being carried out.

Do not use a ball valve

It is preferable not to use a ball valve as there is a greater chance of water ingress than a piston valve.

Special taps

Install special valves at the connections to the flexible pipes. If the flexible pipe is damaged, a particular point can be disconnected from the water mains and the other points will remain in operation.
