Today I want to talk to you about one of the most popular types of flooring - laminated floor tiles.
The diverse choice of laminate flooring presented in the showrooms of Citadeli provides us with the appropriate opportunity to meet the needs of customers of various tastes and categories;
I will acquaint you with the necessary characteristics with which you can correctly choose a laminate floor.
Let's start with a general overview of the laminate:
The material consists of four layers:
Laminated (protective) layer - a melamine or acrylic resin layer (folio), the thickness of the folio itself (20.35-100 microns) determines the wear resistance of products in the future;
Decorative layer (design) - printed paper with imitation of wood or any other material;
Natural wood fibers HDF - (high density fiber tile) or MDF - (medium density fiber tile);
The lower PVC layer of the laminate (bottom), which protects the material from moisture.
Now let's talk about such hallmarks of laminate as class and thickness.
There is laminate flooring available in 7, 8, 10, and 12 mm thicknesses. If the surface is perfectly flat and the room is not damp, it is possible to lay a laminate floor of any thickness. In case of an uneven surface, it is recommended to lay a laminate floor with a thickness of 10,11 and 12 mm.
Laying laminate flooring on an uneven surface will cause the laminate flooring joints to break. Therefore, laying laminate flooring on an uneven surface is not recommended.
Laminate is also distinguished by class - the classification of the laminate floor is carried out according to the wear resistance of its surface: the more wear-resistant the surface is, the higher the class of the laminate floor. There are laminate classes 31, 32, and 33.
What are the criteria for choosing a laminate class?
The class is selected according to the intensity of the load on the floor in the room. For example:
Class 31 - recommended for rooms with low load - bedrooms or offices;
Class 32 laminate - ideal for both low and high traffic residential and medium traffic commercial areas;
Class 33 - recommended for residential and commercial areas under high load.
